Since this page is accessed through Rosshirt.com, I thought I would offer some information about the name and family. It is not a common name especially not in Austin. Any Rosshirt here is directly related. The name is German -Bavarian to be more precise. 'Ross' is a word for horse but with the connotation like steed! 'Hirt' is a word for herder. So you could say that I have been a cowboy for a long time.
Rosshirt Family News
Will currently has a painting in the Texas Biennial. You can see it at 1710 Lavaca (Women and Their Work Gallery). He is in very impressive company - but no one is doing anything like Will.
Briefs on the Rosshirt Boys:

Will's art can be seen on his website www.WillRosshirt.com.
John Leo III is still working at Activant Solutions. And the house he bought in 2001 is one of the best moves he has made.
Ryan is at the University of Washington. He has just officially declared his major in History.
John Marshall Huntington is also in Seattle and working at UW and working with fish in their labs.
Sharon is still an incredible lady loving everything she does from cooking, singing, to her animals and garden, and even being President of Stanberry & Associates. It is amazing to me that she can do it all so well. My dear mother Alana passed away on January 16, 2009. She lived an incredible life and passed on almost like she was performing her own script - and she was a great writer. You can get a notion of her life by reading her obituary that my brother Tom wrote. I also have audio and video of her amazing and moving memorial service that I would be glad to share if you contact me.
Dad is doing ok and is still in Austin. You can email him by clicking here.
Not related related information: There is a www.RosshirtFamily.com which will connect to many more Rosshirts.
Check back in for updates. Coming-- a relative in Germany has sent me a Rosshirt Coat of Arms. I will post it on this site.
